A male lion charges a rival in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana. We had been with this lion for a day as it lay around a waterhole where it had killed two young kudu which had been dying of thirst. I had been lying on the ground hoping for a low angle image of it drinking when another younger male lion walked into the scene. The male charged without hestataion as it approached the kudu carcasses.
