A man walks past washing and a small business area in the township outside Venterstad. With the government trying to provide housing for many South Africans, new box-type houses ( called 'RDP Houses' ---- Reconstruction & Development Programme ) have sprung up in open areas around most small towns in the Karoo. These small houses are often of sub-standard quality & badly built.
