A replica 155 mm Long Tom artillery siege gun manufactured in Barberton erected as a monument in 1984 on Long Tom Pass, seemingly guarding the R37 road between Lydenburg and Sabie in Mpumalanga province. The gun-howitzer was built by Schneider et Cie in Le Creusot, France, of which four were acquired by the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek to guard the capital city of Pretoria, but were instead used as field guns in the field against the British forces, who nick-named it Long Tom.
