Distance is compressed by the use of a long lens from a hill in the suburb of Lotusville, a suburb of the town of Aberdene. This town, situated on the Plains of the Camdeboo Karoo, lies against the Dolerite capped Camdeboo Mountain. The church spire of the Dutch Reformed Church is said to be leaning and at a height of 50 meters, is one of the highest in southern and central Africa.
