Mimetes cucullatus. Rooistompie. Mimetes is a genus of evergreen shrubs or small trees, it is part of the Proteaceae family. This genus, as with other proteas, is popular with birds seeking nectar such as the Cape sugarbird and other sunbird species. All species are endemic to the Cape Floral Kingdom, in South Africa.
