Rocks show intense and deep colours in a hidden gully at Natures Valley along the South African Garden Route. This thin gully along the Tsitsikamma National Park, can only be reaches at extremely low spring tides and the last must be done by swimming. The strong colours occur because the rocks are never exposed to sunlight and mostly submersed under the sea water.
