The Diaz Cross lighthouse near Lüderitz. Built on Diaz Point which shelters the Bay of Luderitz, Namibia’s second harbour, so named after the Portuguese explorer Bartholomew Diaz who landed here in 1487 en route to the Cape. Nearby is a stone cross commemorating this landing.
