HE Committee on Plan and Scope ofthe two hundred and fiftieth anniver-sary of the founding of Kingstonwhich arranged the programme lastyear (May 30th and 31st and June1st, 1908), contemplated more thanthe observing of those three days. As a permanentmemorial it intended to mark the unmarked graves ofthose patriots who lie where their resting places can-not be recognized. One of these was the grave ofColonel Charles DeWitt in Old Hurley. It has beenthe province of the editor of this magazine, who wasthe secretary of that committee, to carry the plan to asatisfactory conclusion. OLDE ULSTER, in Vol. I., pages 307-8, called atten-tion te the neglect of his grave. A lady of the Cityof Washington, District of Columbia, who is a sub-scriber to the magazine, immediately offered to be the i93 Olde Ulster first to contribute to the memorial.
