I wasn’t going in the right direction, so I felt this would give me the bearing I need to be successful in life,” said Lowe, who graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, Del., in 2013. Approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
