Head twice as long as broad ; profile of snout descending in a strong curve ; snout as long as or a little longer than eye, which is 3f to 4 times in length of head and equals interovbital width ; mouth ex- tending to below nostril; 12 to 16 large conical teeth in each jaw; cheek naked. Scales 45-52 j^; lateral lines y^y Yellowish ; a dark brown lateral band from the upper lip, through the eye, to the base of the caudal where it ends in a round spot; a second band commences on the vertex and extends along the base of the dorsal; a few dark brown spots on the dorsal; anal edged with dark brown ; a vertical black bar at the base of the pectoral.
