M. Hof-mau at the Stamps shops. Statue of the Late A. J. new Pennsylvania Railroad stationin the city of New York was officiallydeclared open on -Aug. The ceremonies took place inthe presence of a small party of officialsand invited guests and were very simple,the chief feature being the unveiling of a. ST.\TUE 01- .\. J. large bronze statue of the companys latepresident, A. J. Cassatt. Mr. Samuel Rea, second vice-president,in opening the ceremonies paid a hightribute to the late president, and Mr. W. Cuyler presented the statue to theboard of directors of the road. In accepting the statue Mr. McCreasaid: It is fitting and proper that the un-veiling of this statue should be coincident with the official opening of the great ter-minal which the Pensylvania RailroadCompany has, prompted by his foresightand courage, builded for itself in this,.Vmericas greatest city. The statue occupies a conspicuous placein the new building standing at the headof the grand stairway at the end of themain waiting room.
