U Rathaus Spandau underground U-Bahn railway station - Western Terminus of U7 Line in Berlin, Germany Rathaus Spandau is one of the western termini of Berlin U-Bahn line U7 (the other one being Rudow). It opened on 1 October 1984 when the line was extended from Rohrdamm to Rathaus Spandau and is named after the nearby historic Spandau City Hall. The spacious station was designed by Rainer G. Rümmler and has two island platforms, high ceilings, 64 lamps, black granite columns and a parquet-like floor. The gallery at the southern end of the platforms provides a view of the whole station. The U-Bahn line U7 uses the inner tracks and the outer tracks, built for a planned extension of the U-Bahn line U2 from Ruhleben, are currently empty
