Chicago, Illinois - 'Nuclear Energy,' a sculpture by Henry Moore, on the site of the first controlled nuclear chain reaction, which opened the door to nuclear energy and nuclear weapons. The chain reaction occurred on December 2, 1942 under the grandstand of the University of Chicago's since-demolished Stagg Field. The plaque on the right was the original marker on Stagg Field, salvaged when that facility was torn down.
