Sciaroni the Bronze Star for his actions during the war. Lt. Sciaronis was a navigator on a B-24 that was shot down over Germany, he lead three of his fellow air crew member to safety after more than two weeks behind enemy lines. Lt. Sciaroni was never awarded the medal because of interruptions in his chain of command and deaths of senior officers involved. The Representative, in a ceremony at the 129th Rescue Wing, Moffett Federal Airfield, California presented Lt. Sciaroni the medal.
