A pheasant killed by flooding along the River Parrett, after heavy winter rain, near Martock, in the Somerset Levels, Somerset, Great Britain.

Seasonal flooding during the autumn and winter is increasingly common and increasingly serious in southwest England, particularly in the flat and very low-lying Somerset Levels, shown in this image. This particular shows the body of a pheasant, killed by the flood and then left behind by the receding water, close to the River Parrett, near Martock, in the heart of the Somerset Levels, Somerset, southwest England.
