We have it in our trial grounds for several seasons, and believe it will be quite distinct, and we are thoroughly convinced of its value either for private use or as a market sort " "The root is not large, averaging about three inches in diameter, but Is of very handsome shape, being quite round, with a clean, smooth surface and small tap-root The leaves are quite small with slender stems. There is no variety where richness of color in both top and root is so beautifully com-, bined as in this sort, making it just as valuable for ornamental purposes as' for table use.
