It occupies a conspicuous part of therock. The figure is naked, and to the head are appended circles, as if to represent enormousears. In one hand is a huge club, and in the other a sword. The colors used are red, black,and white. Fig. 2 is of the same period; a representation of some superior being, with wings, perhapsto denote spirituality, and a hand, signifying that he is the creator of the sun, which appearsissuing from it. He stands upon the back of an alligator, but the latter appears to be of laterorigin. The colors of No. 3* are dim, and many of the details obliterated, giving room for Imagina-tion to fill up the details to her own satisfaction. This series, more than the others, seems torepresent a chain of historical events, being embraced by serpentine lines. First is a rudes* The sketches here referred to have heen lost.
