GODS TWO BOOKS CHAPTER I Introduction IT seems high time that the church of Christ got her bear-ings amid the many conflicting claims put forth in thename of modern science. It is time that she caught theinspiration there is for her in the fact that all the morerecent discoveries, and a more sane, a more truly scientificestimate of the older discoveries, are reaffirming, in a man-ner as unexpected as it is conclusive, the divine harmonyshown in the two great revelations which the Creator hasgiven us of himself. It is no new crisis that now confronts the church. Downthrough all the ages these great, questions regarding ourorigin, our relation to the Ruler of the universe, have con-tinued to force themselves on thoughtful minds; and onthe answers given to them have been built all the greatsystems of man-made religion, fromthose of Chaldea andIndia down to the Theosophy and so called ** NewThought of our day.
