The Holy Well in St. Ives number 3845

The holy well, attributed to Saint Ia, is where the fishing village of St. Ives grew up. Being a safe harbour and having a source of fresh water was essential. Until 1843 this well, Venton Ia, was the main water source for the Downalong area of St. Ives which is where most of the oleder fishermen's cottages are situated. The well is Grade 2 listed.
