Map from A Short History of the English People published in 1898. Info from wiki: New Sweden was to be conquered by the Dutch Republic in 1655, during the Second Northern War, and incorporated into the Dutch colonies of New Netherlands. The Dutch Republic was bankrupt after the conclusion of the Third Anglo-Dutch War and in November 1674 the Treaty of Westminster ceded New Netherland to the English.
