Elegant abalone shell. The shell of an elegant abalone (Haliotis elegans), a species of sea snail in the family Haliotidae, the abalones, also known as ormers or paua. This species is found off the coast of Western Australia. As is common amongst abalones, the interior surface of the shell is iridescent.
