Aabuen, the bridge is part of the 8km long green bicycle route connecting Copenhagen neighbourhoods Nørrebro and Frederiksberg. Copenhagen, Denmark.

Aabuen, the spectacular pedestrian and cyclist bridge across Aaboulevard is part of the 8km long green bicycle route and superhighway connecting the two Copenhagen neighbourhoods Nørrebro (Noerrebro) and Frederiksberg. Bicycle track systems like the Green route 51 are likely to be part of future bicycle superhighways in the Copenhagen area. The name Aabuen means "stream arc" - as ti passes over the historic street Aagade - (stream street). The bridge, designed by the Danish firm of architects Dissing and Weitling, is part of the 8km long green bicycle route 51 connecting Copenhagen neighbourhoods Nørrebro and Frederiksberg. 25% of the commuting through Copenhagen is done by bicycle, in London only 3%.
