The assembly of the Sorbonne declare Henry III deposed, January 1589. The Parlement of Paris brought criminal charges against King Henry III of France after his involvement of the Duke of Guise in December 1588. Henry himself was assassinated on 1 August 1589 by Jacques Clement, a fanatical Dominican friar. From the Musee Carnavalet, Paris.
