Scolecite is a hydrated calcium silicate, , a tectosilicate mineral belonging to the zeolite group. It is monoclinic, but crystals are pseudotetragonal, usually occurring as needles in fibrous aggregations, also as well developed acicular crystals in a radial setting. Colorless white to pinkish red and green. Scolecite looks very similar to its closely related zeolite minerals, natrolite and mesolite. This rare, full rounded radial sample is from Sinnar quarry, Nasik district in India; sample diameter is 80 mm
