Female red fronted lemur (Eulemur fulrus rufus) in a tree, preparing to jump. Red fronted lemurs are mid-sized lemurs and are sexually dichromatic - the two sexes are differently coloured. Males have a grey coat with creamy yellow hair around the face, white above the eyes and a black nose. Females are a reddish brown, again with a black nose, often the nose stripe continues across the forehead and above the head (shown). Infants of both sexes are usually coloured like adult males, however within a few weeks male infants develop an orange tuft. Photographed in the Montagne des Francais Reserve, Madagascar.
