He attended Yale University and graduated fromthat instilution with the degree of B. A. in 1889. Immediately he entered tlie printing business which had beenestablished by his father in 1861. He served as a worlcman in all departments of the business and upon thedeath of his father, in 1899, was equipped to assume charge. Since 1899 he has been president and treasurer ofR. R. Donnelley & Sons Company. He also is president and treasurer of the Lakeside Press Building Companyand a director of the Chicago Directory Company. He belongs to the Commercial, Chicago.
