Such was the beginning, and such were the events that lead to thefounding of the city of Hamilton, on the banks of the Great Miami. From that beginning it has grown until now it is a city of over 20,000people, as enlightened prosperous and intellectual as can be found on theglobe. It contains as many of the elements of progress and enlightenedcivilization, with all that tends to embellish and refine human existence asany city in the United States.
