Wild jays^ especially in Springs often talk amongthemselves with low whistles, with an effect very similar toKittys song. She never used the loud, harsh, jay screamunless angered or greatly excited; if a dog came into theroom, she was a typical, wild jay and would raise her crestand scream at the top of her voice.
