Galata Tower Istanbul Turkey


The 62 meter (205-ft) Galata Tower was built in 1348 by merchands from Genova with the intension of providing a fortification. The Ottoman s used it as a watchtower and now it is a famous tourist spot and a landmark for this part of Istanbul.
