Many florists, t'sj)c'(i:illy Ihose in the larfjcr cities, feel tliiit they are de- barred from tlie use of n('\vsj)a])er space because of their location outside the business center. It may bo true that when a fiorist is so h)cated as to l)e out of ])ersonal reach of more tliaii a frac- tion of the city's population, the use of space in a newspaper of general cir- culation will be more expensive than it is effective, though there are means of overcoming such difficulties. In the first place, a florist whose location is outside the business center is outside the high-rent district. The saving in rent sliould in part be devoted to ad- ditional publicity. Another part of the saving should be employed for superior delivery service and adequate telephone service. They afford au excellent means for a florist to read) the peo])le of his own locality and to do it at small cost. As au example of such advertising, see the advertisement of A. 11.
