The mall, Fisketorvet, at the South Harbor water front. Copenhagen. Denmark.

Copenhagen. The mall Fisketorvet at the South Harbor waterfront. Copenhagen. Denmark. The M2 big mall, Fisketorvet - designed by the Kieler Architects - started business in October 2000. Its names comes from the origin of the site, which from 1953 was that of the city's Fish Market. For just a few years ago the South Harbor, besides the Fish Market, consisted of old and worn down industrial building and harbor facilities and has now been turned around to become what in popular saying is called the "Buisness Lifes Goldcoast" , packed in glass facades and modern architectural lines inspired by Venezian style with building and stairs directly on the waterfront. The buildings are mainly office buildings and hotels and situated just a few hundred meters from the city center. The over all master plan was developed by the famous Dutch architect Sjoerd Soeters. Photos is taken facing north from the "Fisketorvet" mall towards the bridge "Langebro" - on the very right side of the photo - which leads to the City Hall.
