As already remarked in the beginning of the present paper the oiientation of the parasites belonging to the genus Lemceodiscus here is different from that found in other publications dealing with the anatomy of this genus. As in other Rhizocephala in my opinion the region where the visceral mass is united with the mantle (the mesentery) forms the dorsal surface. In Lemceodiscus the stalk is found between a short and a long hinge of the mesentery. The region of the mantle opening is the anterior part of the body and conse- quently the dorsal surface is determined by the long hinge of the mesentery which runs from the stalk to the mantle opening. This manner of orientation of Lemceodiscus in all probability is in complete conformity with the views of Miiller ('62). His enlarged figure (fig. 2 of the cited article) shows the animal seen "from the ventral surface". Between the testes in this figure a body is found which probably represents the short hinge of the.
