Concentricpaddle wheels are also used on these turbines. The turbinesare connected to the corresponding generators through inter-mediate shafting and gearing, owing to the low peripheral speedof the turbines and the limited space. It may lie mentioned in this connection that these turbineswere not intended originally for electric service. The 300-hp single-phase generators used with these turbines.
