ETAL MIXER. Rolling type. Designed for acapacity of 250 tons. The vessel is composed of steel plates formed in cylindrical and spherical segments, and requires no additional is lined with best magnesiabricks. The vessel rests on twocircular roller beds, each composedof five rollers, supported by ped-estal bearings, resting on founda-tion girders. The roller tracksfastened to tjie vessel are of caststeel. Concentric with these aretwo rack segments of cast steel,by which the mixer is tilted. The pinions meshing into the segmentsare driven through gear trains from a 26 horse-power electric additional tilting device is provided, consisting of a vertical hy-draulic cylinder at either side, with their plungers linked to pins pro-jecting from the sides of the mixer vessel near its front end. A pre-caution is provided in the form of a hook attached to the rear face ofthe vessel, to which the regular traveling crane serving the mixer maybe hitched and the vessel thus 789. HOT-METAL MIXER.
