A Russian heavy cavalry sword for officers of the Life Guard Horse Regiment(?), circa 1795/1800, Fire-gilt brass knuckle-bow hilt in the shape of the Russian double-headed eagle with great parts of the preserved original patina, the fire gilding well preserved and cleaned in several places, the leather-covered hilt with brass wire winding. Original scabbard, covered in ray skin, brass fittings with partially preserved fire gilding, the locket cracked but with an old soldered repair.
