Bellevue Folly, Lisreaghan in County Galway, Ireland.
Bellevue Folly, a ruined Victorian eye-catcher built by the Lawrence family of Lisreaghan in County Galway, Ireland. They and the house near the village of Lawrencetown, have long since vanished, leaving the gently crumbing, ivy covered folly located on a sharp bend of a road. The two dimensional Gothic arch with pointed ogee windows, pinnacles and flying buttresses transforms the landscape, surprising and stimulating the imagination of passers-by. It was recently resored by the Follies Trust. This image appears in "Irish Follies and Whimsical Architecture" by George Munday and published by O'Brien Press in Dublin.
