Shown here are the Mexican National Exhibits Pavilion and the Main Building in the New Orleans Exposition of 1884. The official title was the 1884 World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition. At it, the Mexican presence far overshadowed that of other Latin American countries with displays at the exposition. The Mexican Pavilion (at left) was octagonal in designed and called the Alhambra Palace.
