He took the course at the Yale Forest School, and gradu-ated with the degree of Master of Forestry,1903. His thesiSj on Gas Engines, waspublished in the Stevens Institute Indicator,to which he also contributed an article on The ]\Iechanical Relation of Force andMass, in 1901. In the same year he in-. H. D. Tiemann vented a hypsometer for measuring theheight of trees. Tischner, Charles Frederick, Jr. (, 02),was born in New York city October 10,1879; son of Charles Frederick and AnnieJane Maddock Tischner. After graduationhe entered the draughting-room of the Gen-eral Building & Construction Co., andshortly afterward began patent law work, inwhich he is still engaged. He is an associatemember of the American Institute of Elec-trical Engineers; a junior member of theAmerican Society of Mechanical Engineers;and a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa andTheta Nu Epsilon fraternities. Toby, Edward M. (, 96), was en-gaged in the Department of Tests at StevensInstitute, 1896; in the General Electric , Schenectady, N.
