This pattern is also apparent in figure 42 of Knaben (1968) for an Alaskan individual. Though the Puvirnituq River population seems to be very isolated, it lacks evident chromosomal struc- tural changes that are sometimes present in such dis- junct populations (Verlaque et al. 1991).
