Capture of Nicaea (1097); March across Asia Minor;Capture of Antioch (1098). —Once across the Bosporus, thecrusaders straightway laid siege to the Turkish capital Nicaea,and in a short time forced its capitulation. The place, how-ever, did not come into the possession of any Frankish prince,but was restored to the Eastern empire.
