Renowned human rights and gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell joined London's Ukrainians in a demonstration outside the Barbican Centre where a performance by the London Symphony Orchestra was due to be held. Conductor Valery Gergiev is a supporter of Vladimir Putin's homophobic laws and has also given his backing to Russia's annexation of Crimea. The group said Gergiev's position was inconsistent with that of the UK's on Russia and homophobia and demanded that the publicly funded LSO dismiss him.
