Great Bircham windmill in Norfolk seen over a yellow field of oilseed rape.
Bircham windmill was built in 1846 and remained working until the 1920s. Once the mill was no longer used the sails were removed and it became very dilapidated until restoration began in the 1970s with new sails being installed in 1981. The interior has also been renovated and the machinery replaced from other derelict mills or farm sales. The mill is now in complete working order and open to the public.
