He can bear all weathers, and may be used either for riding or as a draft Spotted Horsks of the Steppes well developed, and the hoofs small and firm. The hair is short and fine in summer, and coarse and long in winter; that of the tail and mane is thick. Their color is usually light-bay, The horses of the Calmucks, like those pre- ceding, are horses of the steppes, belonging to these nomad tribes.
