Troops of the 371st Infantry debarking from the USS Leviathan, lined up at Pier 6 in Hoboken, NJ for company roll call. The ship carried the largest number of American fighting men to this port, with 9,470 troops, mostly African American soldiers. The 371st and 372nd regiments were decorated with the Croix de Guerre and fought alongside French troops. This image was taken on March 10, 1919, and was issued as part of Military Intelligence Division records.
