The bamboo dumpling steamers stacked up in a restaurant beside the narrow lanes of Tianzifang, Shanghai, China.

Round bamboo steamers are absolutely iconic of Chinese cuisine, seen stacked up in restaurants throughout China, as in this image. They are used for steaming either Chinese dumplings, ravioli-like snacks stuffed with a mixture of meat and/or vegetables, called jiaozi or shuijiao, or bread-like buns, again stuffed meat and/or vegetables, or sweet desserts, such as red bean paste, and called baozi.
