This variety originated in Grand Rapids, Mich., where it Is largely grown for ship- ment, being one of the best varieties for forcing under glass, and also for early spring sowing In the open ground; the leaves are very crimped, of a light yellowish-green col- or, forming a loose head of medium size. It is a very strong grower, free from rok, and will keep a long time aftei being cut without wilting (see cut). Per pkt., 10c; oz., 20c; Vi lb., 50c. This variety Is the earliest and most prolific of all pick- ling cucumbers; also very useful for slicing, the cucumbers, when fully matured, being of good size, very tender and crisp (see cut).
