Statue of King George III at the southern end of Weymouth Esplanade


Unveiled in 1810 to celebrate the 50th year of King George III's reign. The King visited Weymouth 14 times between 1789 and 1805. King George III was born on 4 June 1738 and succeeded to the throne on the death of his father, George II, in 1751. He died in 1820.
