HE biological demands in man and the lower animals are thosearising from the two main basic impulses; the impulse of hunger,serving the purpose of self-preservation, and the sex impulse,serving the purpose of procreation. The entire complex activity of animal life, no matter at whatstage of development, is directed towards the satisfaction ofthose two basic impulses, all others being subservient thereto.
