Photograph by David Coleman. The Bradley Fighting Vehicle exhibit illustrates the development of modern armored warfare capabilities. Designed to operate alongside the Abrams tank, the Bradley combines mobility, armor protection, and significant firepower. The display details its primary armament: a 25mm automatic cannon, TOW anti-tank missile launcher with two tubes, and a coaxial machine gun. The vehicle requires a three-person crew (commander, gunner, and driver) and can carry six troops in the M2 variant or two scouts in the M3 cavalry version. The exhibit highlights the Bradley's advanced features, including thermal-imaging systems capable of target acquisition through smoke and dust at ranges up to 3,500 meters. Special attention is given to urban warfare modifications, showcasing an M2A3 variant with add-on reactive armor and electronic warfare systems designed to counter improvised explosive devices, as deployed in Mosul, Iraq in 2008.
