Four boys mostly dressed only in white shorts, socks, and shoes carry uniformly cut logs, each with grooves cut in their ends so they can be stacked to form a log play cabin. A double layer of planks was laid as a floor, and a pair of window frames are set on either side of the future front door. The boys are currently working on assembling the roofing parts. They seem to be in a well-tended 1940s or '50s yard. Kids' toy log cabins were invented in the 1800s, but Lincoln Logs weren't invented until 1916.
